Managing your BHQ Account or Artist Directory Entry

We get quite a few emails from BHQ Members and those who have entries in the Artist Directory asking some of the same questions. I thought now would be a good time to post the most commonly asked questions, and their answers!

Artist Directory

The Artist Directory is a free BHQ Service. Anyone can list themselves in the Directory, which many potential customers use to find Artists in their area. (We actually receive quite a few emails and phone calls asking for a Balloon Twister or Decorator in a specific location - we always send them to the Artist Directory and have them run a geographic search).

In order to keep the information in the Artist Directory current and up to date, we send out automatic reminders to those who haven't logged in recently, asking them to update their information. (Some have discovered that these automatic notifications are ending up in their junk email folder - be sure to look there!). All you need to do at this point to keep your entry current is to log in.

After a certain amount of time has gone by with no activity, an entry in the Artist Directory will be automatically deleted. If this has happend to you, no worries - simply sign up again!

What happened to my password?

BHQ Members and those in the Artist Directory need a valid password in order to access their account. It is a very common occurance to forget your password. Fortunately this is easy to fix (and no, we don't sit here in the BHQ offices and laugh at anyone who forgets their password).

If you forget your password you can have one sent to you automatically. When it asks you to log in, just go to the "Do you need password help?" section and follow the directions. A new password will be automatically generated and emailed to your email address you signed up with (again, if you don't receive this, check your junk email folder).

Once you have your password, log in and click on "Member Account". Down at the bottom you'll see an entry box for you to fill in your own password.

This is the best way to handle lost or forgotten passwords. We at BHQ cannot look up your password (it isn't stored on our system in human-readable form).

Also, there is no way to change your password other than to request a new one.

My email address changed...

To change your address for the mailing list, go to http://www.balloonhq.com/subscribe. Unsubscribe your old address and subscribe your new one.

To change your address in the Artist Directory, go to http://www.balloonhq.com/dbindex to locate your portfolio and then follow the instructions for changing your address.

My BHQ Membership expired! Oh no!!!

This happens a lot - we get busy, we put all the bills in a stack on our desk, the cat messes up the stack, and we lose track of time and forget to renew our BHQ Membership. All is not lost! All your photos and videos in your BHQ Portfolio are still stored on our system. Once you renew your membership, everything is automatically restored! Yay!

Community Art Projects, part 2

Did you participate in Balloons Around the World this past week? I did... so did 103 locations around the world! This includes 11 countries, and 37 US states/territories. Check out the Balloons Around the World website to see images from the world-wide event. (And if you participate and haven't uploaded your photos yet, you still can!).

Thank you to Jeff Brown, the founder of the event, for creating such an amazing and giving world-wide community Art project!
