A Dog On Hat
Patricia Bunnell
This creation makes a very simple/cheesy “Pluto” type dog, on a hat.
Step 1 | Step 2 | Step 3 |
Step 1: Inflate a blush 260 leaving about a 3 1/2″ tip. Make 2 bubbles that are about 2 1/2″ each and lock twist them together. Roll the knot through to prevent it from un-twisting. This will be the muzzle of the dog.
Step 2: Making a series of three bubbles for the head, you will start with a 2 1/2″ bubble followed by a small bubble and finish up with another 2 1/2″ bubble. Lock twist them together.
Step 3: Pinch twist the small bubble.
Step 4 | Step 5 | Step 6 |
Step 4: Make a small pinch twist behind the head.
Step 5: Squeeze any remaining air to the end of the balloon and make a 2″ bubble for the lower jaw.
Step 6: Twist it into the muzzle/head configuration.
Step 7 | Step 8 | Step 9 |
Step 7: Tie a knot at the end of an un-inflated brown/mocha balloon about 1 1/2″ from the tip.
Step 8: Cut the end of the balloon off leaving the knot on the longer piece. We’ll use the short piece for the dogs nose.
Step 9: Inflate about a 6″ bubble with the longer part of the balloon. This becomes it’s ears.
Step 10 | Step 11 | Step 12 |
Step 10: Squeeze 1/2 of the air to the other end of the balloon.
Step 11: Make a tiny bubble for the nose.
Step 12: Twist the ears at the pinch twist at the top of the dogs head. Twist the nose in place. Adjust the pinch twist at the back of the head.
At this point, you can add a 6″ red heart for a tongue if you wish. A little artwork and Viola… You have an adorable dog hat.
