Subject: RE: Chick-Fil-A Leadercast, anyone?
Date: Sun, 4 Mar 2012 04:34:18 -0800 (PST)
From: T M <sondance_balloons(at)yahoo.com>

Hi Chris,
I could try, but this could probably explain it better:
http://www.chick-fil-aleadercast.com/

From what I can tell, local Chick-Fil-A franchise owners around the country
usually coordinate this in their own communities.  They seem to be most often
held in large churches, typically the ones most likely to have sufficient
multimedia equipment to handle the broadcast, and large enough auditoriums to
hold a lot of people.  The local people have some free reign to bring in local
talent if they wish, which is not part of the national broadcast.  They also try
to sell booth space to vendors and local businesses who want to be seen at the
event, too.

I've been approached by someone I know who is on the board of one of the local
hosting venues.  Although he never came right out and said it, there was a lot
of the old familiar language... "great opportunity to get yourself out there",
"you can bring lots of cards or flyers to promote yourself", and all the other
stuff we usually hear along with that.

As I said, he never actually came right out and SAID that they wouldn't be
willing to pay, I've heard these terms way too many times to not understand what
they mean.  I sent a proposal to him (minus a price list) and to two other board
members whose email addresses he gave me, and they loved it... now that I know
they like the idea, it's time to follow up with them and let them know how much
it will cost.  Then we'll see how much they REALLY think of it.  I suspect they
will tell me that I'm too expensive, and try to get me to come down in price...
ain't gonna happen.  They charge $69 per person to attend this thing, they had
over 200 last year, and are expecting over 350 this year.  If they try to tell
me that I'm too expensive, it just ain't gonna go down well.
