|This parrot is a good example of what color can do to a standard
sculpture. It’s just your basic parrot, but by using different colors for different
sections of the figure and adding a few simple enhancements it is not “just a
parrot” anymore. Try it with your favorite one balloon figure, and watch a balloon
creation you already know sparkle to life. This is my last column that I took of my
instructional CD twisted mind,
starting with next month there will be new stuff again, starting with what I learned at
TJam. If you like to see something, twisting ideas with certain balloons or certain kind
of figures, just let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
|Balloons needed :||5 260Q’s. Goldenrod; White; Wintergreen; Hot Rose;
|Make 2 stand alone pinch twists from the white and
spring lilac. The spring lilac stand alone pinch twist is slightly larger then the white.
|Inflate the wintergreen balloon about half full. Tie
on a small spring lilac bubble and tie a slightly inflated goldenrod to the spring lilac
bubble. Make your knots very tight and tie only once. Otherwise it is difficult to hide
them. Also cut off any unused parts very close to the knot.
|Split the white stand alone pinch twist in half, and
insert between the spring lilac and goldenrod. Pinch twist the spring lilac bubble.
|Make a bubble in the green 260 slightly larger then
the bubble in the goldenrod, pull the goldenrod so a beak will form and twist together.
|We are making a standard birdbody now. Make the
first 2 bubbles of the birdbody and lock them. Cut off remainder of the wintergreen, tie
hot rose to the wintergreen, and inflate the tail of the wintergreen again. Tie inflated
wintergreen tail to the end of the hot rose bubble.
|Roll the hot rose bubble through the 2 wintergreen
ones to finish the birdbody. Split the stand alone spring lilac pinch twist in half, and
insert between the body and the tail.
|Cut the remainder of the goldenrod balloon in 3
equal parts and insert behind the eyes as whiskers. Draw pupils on eyes and your bird is
finished. If you put this bird on a swing, the tail will point more downwards for a more
